Janos was born in Budapest Hungary and came to Canada with his parents as refugees from the Hungarian revolution. He began his lifelong study of eastern and western esoteric-*metaphysical traditions while still a teenager. At the age of eighteen he began training seriously in the Martial Arts. He achieved Black Belt rank in Kodokan Judo (Judo Canada) and a Fourth Degree Black Belt (Senior Instructor) rank in Japanese Jiu Jitsu (Canadian Jiu Jitsu Council) as well as studying various other Martial Arts systems. As a result of these studies Janos developed and taught his own martial arts method: Shinken Jiu Jitsu.
At the age of thirty-eight Janos decided to change his both life and career direction. He returned to school and began his path as a Holistic Therapist. He graduated in 1991 from the D’Arcy Lane Institute 2200 hour Massage Therapy program, and again in 2004 from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Holistic Health Sciences (Ontario). Over the years he has received certifications in many other natural therapeutic methods including Cranial Sacral Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Japanese Reiki, Qigong, and Aromatherapy. As acknowledgement for his contribution to Martial Arts, Janos was inducted into The World Multi-Martial Arts Hall of Fame (USA) in 2007. Janos enjoyed a long career in the health services field before retiring in 2017.
Janos and his wife Donna (depending on the time of year) can be found living in Atlantic Canada or Southern Spain.
