Janos was born in Budapest Hungary and came to Canada with his parents as refugees from the Hungarian revolution. He began his lifelong study of eastern and western esoteric-*metaphysical traditions while still a teenager. At the age of eighteen he began training seriously in the Martial Arts. He achieved Black Belt rank in Judo and Fouth Degree Black Belt (Yondan) rank in Japanese Jiu Jitsu as well as studying various other Martial Arts both eastern and western. Based on these fighting methods he developed and taught his own self defence method (Shinken Jiu Jitsu). As acknowledgement for his contribution to Martial Arts he was inducted into The World Multi-Martial Arts Hall of Fame (USA) in 2007.
At the age of thirty eight he decided to change his both life and career direction. Subsequently he left a career in mechanical design to become a Massage Therapist. He graduated in 1991 from the D’Arcy Lane Institute 2200 hour Massage Therapy program, and again in 2004 from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Holistic Health Sciences (Ontario). Over the years he has studied many other natural therapeutic methods including Cranial Sacral Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Qigong, and Aromatherapy. He enjoyed a long career in the Healing Arts before retiring his practice in 2017.
Now in his mid sixties, Janos lives a quiet life by the sea in rural Nova Scotia along with his wife Donna.
