Janos is a longtime practitioner of both the Martial Arts and the Healing Arts. He was born in Budapest Hungary and came to Canada with his parents as refugees from the Hungarian revolution. He began his lifelong study of eastern and western esoteric-*metaphysical traditions while still a teenager. At the age of eighteen he began training seriously in the Martial Arts. He achieved Black Belt rank in Kodokan Judo (Judo Canada) and a Fourth Degree Black Belt (Senior Instructor) rank in Japanese Jiu Jitsu (Canadian Jiu Jitsu Council) as well as studying various other Martial Arts systems both eastern and western.
As a result of these studies Janos developed and taught his own martial arts method: Shinken Jiu Jitsu. In 2007 as acknowledgement for his contribution to Martial Arts, Janos was presented with a lifetime achievement award by the World Multi-Martial Arts Hall of Fame (USA).
Janos graduated in 1991 from the D’Arcy Lane Institute (London Ontario) 2200 hour Massage Therapy program, and in 2004 from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Holistic Health Sciences (Ontario). Over the years he has received extensive training in many other natural therapeutic methods including Cranial Sacral Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Polarity, Qigong, and Aromatherapy. He enjoyed a long career in the health services field before retiring his practice in 2017.
Currently Janos conducts workshops in a method of personal development called Shinjitsu– Way of the Spiritual Ronin. He lives with his wife Donna in Nova Scotia, Canada.
