Janos was born in Budapest Hungary and came to Canada with his parents as refugees from the Hungarian revolution. He began his lifelong study of eastern and western esoteric-*metaphysical traditions while still a teenager. At the age of eighteen he began training seriously in the Martial Arts. He achieved Black Belt rank in Kodokan Judo and a Fourth Degree Black Belt (Senior Instructor) rank in Japanese Jiu Jitsu as well as studying the fighting methods of various other Martial Arts over the years. As a result of these studies Janos developed and taught his own martial arts method: Shinken Jiu Jitsu.
At the age of thirty-eight Janos decided to change his both life and career direction. He returned to school and began his path as a Holistic Therapist. He graduated in 1991 from the D’Arcy Lane Institute 2200 hour Massage Therapy program, and again in 2004 from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and Holistic Health Sciences (Ontario). Over the years he has received certifications in many other natural therapeutic methods including Cranial Sacral Therapy, Therapeutic Touch, Japanese Reiki, Qigong, and Aromatherapy. As acknowledgement for his contribution to Martial Arts, Janos was inducted into The World Multi-Martial Arts Hall of Fame (USA) in 2007. Janos enjoyed a long career in the health services field before retiring his practice in 2017.
Currently Janos teaches the art of Shinjitsu. Shinjitsu is the culmination of forty five plus years of personal experience and study. It is an amalgamation of practical physical and mental training methods drawn from both the Martial Arts and the Healing Arts. ShinJitsu training is designed to foster skills related to personal discovery and empowerment.
Janos lives by the sea in Atlantic Canada with his wife Donna.
